Excelerate SaaS platform
Bridging the gap between students and companies
Year :
2024
Role :
Design Lead
Client :
Excelerate
Project Duration :
16 weeks

INTRO
Excelerate needed a completely new version of their SaaS platform/app that enabled users and companies to connect and collaborate on job and thesis opportunities. The goal was to facilitate a successful matches between student and companies. The platform/app is live to this day.

PROBLEM
At Excelerate, there was a pressing need for a modernized version of their platform that aligns with the revamped website and incorporates new features.
Transfer of Design: Prior to this project, I developed a completely new website for Excelerate. This required me to seamlessly transfer the new website's visual profile to the platform and app.
Complex Tasks: The platform is designed for both users and companies to perform a variety of complex tasks, such as creating job posts, thesis proposals, and resumes.
User Engagement: Statistics revealed that newly registered users on the current Excelerate platform and app were not engaging significantly after completing their profiles.

APPROACH
I took several steps to address this project effectively:
Research and User Tests: In the initial stages, my first task was to conduct usability tests on the current platform. This helped me gain valuable insights into the user flow and identify adjustments needed to enhance user engagement upon entering the platform and app.
Analysis: To better understand user needs, I performed a thorough analysis of the usability test results, mapping out pain points that required attention.
Sketching: I began the design process by creating rough sketches, which served as the initial foundation for the new design.
Prototyping: As I write this, I am currently designing a high-fidelity prototype that incorporates findings from my research, analysis, and initial sketches.
CONCLUSION
This project was a end-to-end design proces with deep involvement of users and other people of interests, which ensured a user-centric flow. It was a long-going project, where I developed myself as a UX/UI designer in terms of personal development and design technologies. Excelerate themselves were very happy with the design, and the platform is live and used by their customers to this day.
